Sharon “Death Bed” Picture Sells For $18,000

$18,000 could buy you a lot nowadays. A decent car, a nice down payment on a town home, or enough drugs to keep you sedated for the rest of the year. It could also buy you a blurry photograph of what might be Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on his death bed. That is the asking price for the latest eBay atrocity.

Israeli television has claimed the photo is a fake, especially due to the fact that the room number does not coincide with the room number that Sharon is being treated in. The seller cries foul, and claims he is a delivery boy who was sent to drop off flowers at the hospital and snapped the picture with his camera phone.

This whole situation is sick and, at the same time, very deep commentary on what our society has become.

The Jeruselum Post reported that the photo was indeed sold - no real surprise though - there are too many fools out there wandering the world with holes in their pockets. It is actually quite a genius, albeit lazy, way to make a few extra bucks.

So, right now, some jackass is missing $18,000 from his bank account but has a new very morbid center piece for his or her living room while the rest of us look upon this farce with a slight interest and more than a little disgust.

Wow. Did you just hear that sound? It was the collective IQ of the world dropping by a few percentage points.
