Why Will it Not Work?

Software. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. It doesn’t matter how much you pay for it, or what company you get it from. There will always be bugs, but why?

Are the companies rushing to meet consumer demand by releasing products too early? Well, that’s a given, but who stands to gain from such actions? Not me or you; we end up having to pay out the ass for something full of bugs. It’s a fleecing of the public. So, simply put, we pirate.

We are called thieves, bastards, and every other name in the book by those who stand to make take us for all we're worth. Oh well ... one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

Think about it ... you wouldn’t sell a car to the public if the alternator didn’t work, but if you did, there would be a recall and people would be reimbursed. For some reason, software companies see their product as different from everything else on the market. The same goes for video game manufacturers.

However, you may say it’s wrong to take money out of the poor developer’s pockets. Yeah, well it’s also wrong to take money out of my pockets as well. Why should I ever have to pay for an upgrade? I bought the shit in the first place, did I not? Why are my upgrades not free? Simply because they've got you by the balls and have no choice but to comply. It's akin to being married, except you don’t get the courtesy reach-around with the ass-reaming.

I wouldn't go so far as to call this an editorial; it’s more like an angry rant. I’ve been working on getting something that shall not be named in this piece to work for the last few hours with no luck. It has gotten to my very last nerve. The funny thing is, it is probably all my fault that things aren't working.
